PALM BEACH, Fla. — George Bluff IV was smoking a cigarette in his backyard on Woodbridge Road in Palm Beach, Fla more than a decade ago when his landlord at the time, Donald Trump, came through the back gate.

It was 6:30 in the morning and Bluff, whose grandfather invented the first TV dinner tray, was in his boxers.

“He just opened the gate and said, ‘Can you see it?’” said Bluff, who several years ago bought a house on the same block – right behind Trump’s palatial Mar-a-Lago club.“I was confused. I was like, ‘What’s that Mr. Trump?” recounted Bluff, 54. “He said, ‘This is where the [club] ballroom is going to be.’ He had the vision and the passion – and it was 6:30 in the morning.’”

Bluff is among a number of Woodbridge Road dwellers, neighbors of Trump, who planned to vote for the Republican frontrunner in Tuesday’s pivotal Florida primary.

“He’s remarkable and I really hope he becomes our next president,” said Buff. “He has a way where it’s, ‘If I think I’m right, I’m going to do it,’” he added. “Much to everyone’s surprise he’s very true to his word – and he is a family man.”

Support for Trump on the 13-home block isn’t surprising given that its residents have the club initiation fee – reportedly at least $150,000 – waived, in part to assuage concerns over increased traffic.

It also helps that a number of current or recent residents are related to the presidential hopeful.

His sisters, federal judge Maryann Trump Barry and Elizabeth Trump Grau, who works in banking, both own multi-million dollar homes there.

His nephew, Dr. David Desmond, sold his home at the end of the street in November for $8.9 million.

And Trump owns a corner property that he leases or reserves for club members – including singer Elton John.

“I’ve had so many good experiences with the family,” said Merrill Lochmaier, 57, an investment banker who has rented a home on the block since 2004.
